Ethical Porn Recommendations
This may not come as a surprise to you, especially since you’ve sought out this page, but the porn industry can be…problematic, to say the least. When consuming porn, it’s often difficult to know how it was made, if everyone involved was treated fairly and compensated appropriately, and if everything you’re seeing is truly consensual. And while I firmly believe that using porn can be a healthy and fulfilling sexual experience for many people, a lack of understanding about where your explicit content comes from can also obscure the ways it may perpetuate unhealthy and/or limiting beliefs about sex, relationships, and intimacy.
In 2023, a research team based at the University of Sydney identified six criteria indicating the porn you’re consuming is healthy and ethical. These criteria include:
A negotiation of consent onscreen
Depictions of safe sex
Ethical production practices
A focus on pleasure for all participants
A variety of sexual practices
A variety of body types, genders, and races/ethnicities
To that end, I’ve compiled a list of trusted sources for you to enjoy worry-free! These producers, companies and platforms have all dedicated themselves to creating content in value-driven, ethical ways. Many of them are also owned, run by, or feature directors and creators from marginalized communities, including women, non-White folks, people in larger bodies, and the LGBTQ+ community.

Lust Cinema
Lust Cinema challenges typical porn industry standards by promoting explicit content’s cinematic possibilities, high quality storytelling, and a realistic representation of human sexuality and sex. Created by award-winning filmmaker, writer, and entrepreneur Erika Lust, Lust Cinema features adult cinema that centers pleasure, consent, and diverse perspectives.
Bright Desire
Bright Desire publishes feminist erotica submitted by a broad community of authors. Created by an award-winning filmmaker and author known under the pseudonym Ms. Naughty, Bright Desire was created with “a desire to feature a different kind of erotic fiction that is female-focused and interested in the who, when and why of sex, not just the how.”
Bellesa
A Canadian-based website, Bellesa produces films in which actors have agency over storylines, outfits and who they’re working with. They also have a BIPOC Creators Program, which awards $20,000 to filming projects involving BIPOC performers. In January, 2026, UK Glamour named Bellesa one of the top ethical porn sites globally.
Afterglow
Featuring a wide range of genres, open communication, and diverse performers enjoying authentic pleasure, AfterGlow was created by women, for women (and, of course, their partners!). According to founder and CEO, Lilly Sparks, AfterGlow “make(s) and share(s) videos that portray sex accurately and treat performers with dignity, because nothing is sexier than consent.” Their website also features informational articles, interviews, and more that support viewers in finding sexual pleasure in ways that work best for them.
PinkLabel.TV
Launched in 2012 and featuring over 3000 films, PinkLabel.TV is a streaming platform that highlights emerging and independent adult filmmakers, hosting a wide array of content from many different studios, artists and performers. According to their website, “viewers can discover movies spanning softcore to hardcore, narrative and experimental, historical films from as early as the 1920’s, documentaries, and more. Films push the erotic genre and challenge conventional expectations of what sex should look like, with much needed depictions of underrepresented bodies and desires.”
CrashPad
Following the success of her debut film, The Crash Pad, director Shine Louise Houston founded Pink and White Productions and, subsequently, the Crash Pad series. With over 400 episodes, plus behind-the-scenes interviews with performers, Crash Pad celebrates authentic queer sexuality driven by the actors’ preferences and choices. The resulting content highlights communication and consent, while celebrating the joy and affirmation of genuine sexual play.
Dipsea
Dipsea is an audiobook app featuring “stories made by women - for everyone.” The Dipsea team is passionate about creating high-quality experiences for their audience, with all stories written in-house and recorded by a close network of professional narrators. Their erotic audio stories explicitly center the female gaze and stories number in the thousands, with new content released weekly.
